Hi Everyone,
This will probably be my last post before the Big Move. I am on pins and needles to say the least. I feel like my life is on hold and I just want it to be done. Patience has never been one of my virtues! I'm also a little worried about fitting all of our stuff in the truck. Due to dealing with Mark's Dad's illness, we never had time to do a yard sale so we have a lot of stuff. We are trying to Craigslist some of it, but haven't had any luck yet.
I saw Dr. Asa this past week and I was a mess. I had hurt my knee in Jazzercise again so he worked on that. Then I told him my whole left side of my body has been hurting so he adjusted that too. When I mentioned that my stomach was still queasy and I sometimes felt nauseated, he seemed a little perturbed. I know I'm not pregnant so that's not it. Wish it was. We would love another little one. Anyway...
Then we got into a discussion about this small town I live in and want out of so desperately. I mentioned a little bit of why we want out of here...more family time, less commute, less $$ going out in gas & food, etc...and then I flat out told him I thought my stomach problem might be coming from stress. It seemed he had an "Aha" moment and excused himself from the room. He came back with a bottle of something. He then did a muscle test with the bottle on my gut and then without it. I failed the "test" without it so he prescribed it to me.
The bottle is hydrochloric acid supplements. He said that under stress, the stomach won't have as much hydrochloric acid in it and so he said to try it. I've been on it a few days and I've noticed a huge difference. The queasiness/nausea is almost completely gone. Good job, doc. I should have started taking this stuff about 20 years ago.
Oh, and he said that when he takes a vacation, he doesn't need the hydrochloric acid after about 2 days. HONEY....I NEED A VACATION! And yes, my sweet hubby reads this!
Have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend everyone. I see Dr. Asa again next week so I'll post afterwards.

Glad to hear you're getting things figured out!!! Good luck on the move.
I just read through your entire blog from the time you went to the Mercola Clinic until now and in case I never find my way back to your blog, I want to leave you with something to investigate and possibly pursue if Dr. Asa doesn't accomplish for you what you want with the blood sugar.
I am a chiropractor who has been pursuing better ways to help my family and my patients for the past 25 years, I have heard and seen a lot! I am also a Christian so have been careful to watch for new age attachments to various therapies. A little over a year ago I received training in a method called craniobiotics (www.craniobiotic.com). I was cautious at first because it deals with removing infections and toxicities with the use of energy medicine, or using the body's electomagnetic field. That was a stretch for me, but the developer of the method is a Christian and he explained things in a way that made physical sense, i.e. it is how our bodies were created, it isn't a spiritual "vat" we are tapping into. It has been very eye opening and rewarding for me to use this in my practice, but it does have its limitations. So, I keep searching or perhaps God keeps me going in my search. A few weeks ago, I was talking to a friend who is a chiropractor in Ohio and he was telling me about a method that he is using that goes beyond what the craniobiotics has done, it is called Field Control Therapy (The field is the electomagnetic field). I have been researching this method and feel it is the best out there to get the body to remove infections and toxicities. I plan to be trained in it but it will be awhile until I learn it. Just wanted to mention it to you (with probably too much background info!) in case you end up searching for something more in your quest to treat the high blood sugar. A couple helpful websites are www.fctforums.com and drdaveou.com. Both provide some explanation of this type of treatment. May the grace of our Lord Jesus go with you in your pursuit of complete health.

Hi Debbie,
I have an appointment with Dr. Asa this Friday and just wanted to thank you (and everybody who commented) for all your information. With everything I read on your blog I feel prepared and sure that I will get the most out of the appointment with him.
I have to admit I was a little surprised that they are scheduling the appointments 15 minutes apart. In his book he talks about how he listens to his patients and spends time with them.
Either way, I am looking forward to seeing him on Friday. My husband is going with me and I am praying that God will speak to us and give us discernment regarding Dr. Asa's program and whether it's the next step for me/us.
Thank you again!!!

Hi Debbie, I had an appt. with Dr. Asa tomorrow but have read some negative comments about him. Is it true that he "herds" people through the appointment? I have read that he claims to be a Christian but that in reality he is just out to make money and doesn't care about the patient at all. How much time did he spent with you during the first appointment? I am so confused and don't know where God is leading me with this.
Thanks ~K
Mary - Thanks, I will look into those websites you mentioned. This sounds a lot like EFT, which is what Dr. Mercola endorses.
Kristina - You are welcome. I hope you had a positive experience at your first visit.
K - I did not feel rushed in any way at my first appointment with Dr. Asa. He asked me how he could help and I told him why I was there. While he was listening, he started evaluating me...checking my eyes, muscle movements, etc. There have been times where he has been more busy than others, but he has always taken the time I needed.
I am not Dr. Asa so therefore I cannot tell you what the man's intentions truly are. I personally feel that his aim is to help as many people as he can and that he is frustrated that there is only one of him to go around. He has hired more help...I'm not sure if they are MD's or DC's or what since I have not personally seen these other dr.'s.
In regards to his Christianity, I believe he is genuine.
